Blessings on the River Part 2

Ever since that night on the river boat with Mrs. Watwood, I just can’t stop thinking about her and praying for her. So the other day I emailed her just to check in and let her know I was thinking of her. After the reply I received I just knew I had to share it, plus some of you have asked for an update.

In her email below the part that sticks out to me the most is “I have nothing to complain about, I would be afraid to. God is so good to me”. You should also take notice she knows what “LOL” means, which for some of you non-hip people means “laugh out loud”. LOL!! This lady has been such a blessing to me. How is it that the one going through these treatments, facing what we all know as a life threatening illness encourages me?

From Mrs. Watwood

“Hello Staclynn, so nice of you to think of me. I am really doing well I think, have a lot of swelling that doesn’t seem to want to go away and fatigue but I have nothing to complain about. I would be afraid to .God is so good to me. And hey I still have hair…..LOL at least tonight. I will start another round November 11-12. Becky went home today. I miss her already. I want to tell you guys again how much I enjoyed hearing you .I needed a blessing. I felt you were singing in the spirit best of all. And you spoke the words so clearly that I could hear the message in your song. Hope I didn’t mess you up too bad. It was fun! I was hoping maybe we might come up for your reunion but those dates look to close to chemo time. I hope it’s a great success and all you want it to be. God bless you and yours love in Christ to you all…….Gwynn”

A few days after our conversation Becky, her daughter sent me this email. It seems Becky may be a chip off the ole block. She is so positive and I love her charge to people at the end. Which is so true… He loved us so much to die for us.

From Becky

“Update on Gwynn Watwood from Birmingham, Alabama.  God has truly answered prayers.  She has taken 2 rounds of chemo and not threw up the first time.  Very tired from the chemo, but…we expected that.   God has answered the prayers of his people.  She goes back for 2 more rounds the 11th and 12th of November.  I believe it will be the same for her this time too.  God is so good.  I wish everyone in the world could believe how good He is.  Anyone reading this…please give God a chance.  He loves you so much.”

Is it possible on that very night when we first met Mrs. Watwood, God sent her there for us and not us for her? I absolutely think so! Praise God for his saints and for His mercy. Also continue to pray for Gwynn Watwood.

Philemon 1:3-7

“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.”
