A Special Place
I had the opportunity to go see Gold City the other night at a church about five miles from my home, and every time I see them I can’t help but think about the day I got saved. The day that I absolutely know Jesus Christ came into my heart and an instant change was made in me.
The reason being is because it was under the ministry of a Gold City and Jamie Ragle service. I’m one of the classic cases of born and raised in church and knowing exactly how to act, what to say, and what to do. I’m very humbled that God showed His mercy on me for so many years. I wish I could remember the message or remember the exact songs GC sang, but I can’t. All I know is on that spring night in May of 2005 I finally listened and not just heard.
I guess for that very reason Gold City at the time Jay, Jonathan, Daniel, Tim, Channing, Adam and Doug will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ve loved every line-up they’ve had and they sounded great last Sunday night, but the guys mentioned above will always be really special to me.
I didn’t get to talk to any of the guys the other night, the only one I really know is Daniel and he was off for the birth of their new baby girl. I will say this though, the adding of Roy Webb on the keys and Josh Cobb absolutely rocked on tenor, you should definitely go see them somewhere soon. There are several things that I would like to have the opportunity to do in life and to get to share the stage with Gold City is one of them.
Here is a clip of the current group having a little church……………
Hey Staclynn,
That was really good wasnt it, and so very many people. I could not get over how packed it was. The guys you mention as singing when you got saved, I do remember well also, but they probably do not know me. But those singing Sunday night was great, too! Last weekend was a good time for me.
Friday, the benefit at Victory Bapt on Chickamauga Ave in Rossville, then Saturday at the Memorial Auditorium, Sunday morning at Nellie Head to hear Archie Watkins, and then Sunday night to see Gold City. If you all had been in the midst with these, I probably would have thought I had died and gone to Heaven. It was such a sweet weekend for me. I just got home from the depot tonight, and look forward with great anticipation to hear Voices Won at my church next Friday night. I love singings and never get tired of them. I hope we have a good turn out because I want lots of people from my church to hear you guys and enjoy you like I do. God bless you all.
